So it's New Year's Eve 2007. Another year is behind us. Another 365 days filled with memories - some good, some bad - will be going into the vault when the clock strikes midnight tonight.

THE NEW FACE OF LOVE
by HectorAbout a year ago this month I got out of a 4-1/2-year relationship with my ex-girlfriend Jenny. (She's still, without a doubt, my best friend.) Since then I've been trying to adapt to the way things have changed since I was a Senior in high school. Back then, things were much simpler.
NOT NATURAL BORN CHEATERS
by Annie
First I would like to personally tell Hector that I enjoyed reading his post and his lame attempt to justify his cheating habits – very smooth!
Also sorry for slacking the past couple of weeks! I’m going to try and get back on track this break!
So this is in response to Hector’s “Natural Born Cheaters” post. I know he wrote it a while ago but still ... read it again if you have to.

DRUGS AND THE LAW
***This is the final paper I submitted for my Philosophy of Law class. We were asked to pick a thesis involving any of the topics covered during the semester, and after reading MLK's Letter from Birmingham Jail, I got interested in the idea of an obligation to disobey unjust laws. I was going to edit the paper and make it more reader-friendly for you guys, but that kind of would've messed up the whole thing. Sorry. I did add pics and stuff though! Bon appétit!BRING BACK BILL
While I was writing my post on Mitt Romney and his made-up MLK story I thought of another thing that caught my attention this past week. Bill Clinton was interviewed by Charlie Rose a week ago, and during that hour he discussed everything from his book Giving to what he believes America needs in its next president. He also gave reasons why Democrats should consider his wife a safer bet than Barack Obama.

LIAR LIAR STARRING MITT ROMNEY
by HectorMitt Romney making up the story that his dad marched with Martin Luther King, Jr. back in the Sixties doesn't surprise me, and the news shouldn't surprise you either. Not only is he a Republican (interchangeable with the term habitual liar), he's also a fanatic religious nut job (interchangeable with the terms Mormon or Christian fundamentalist). We should all fear both types of people equally.
PUTIN'S "PERSON OF THE YEAR?"
by HectorUpdating the TOP STORIES section of our homepage I found out that Time has named Vladimir Putin, the president of Russia, as "Person of the Year." I thought to myself: Putin? Really? Most people don't even know who he is.

'JUNO' YOU WANNA SEE IT
by HectorMe and my friend Jenny just watched Juno with the skinny nerd from Superbad. (If you haven't seen Superbad, there's something horribly wrong with you.) I won't spoil it for you, so I'll just tell you the basics.
LET ME BE REAL
by Hector
I'm sorry, guys. I haven't been myself almost this whole time. I've been perpetrating. I mean, I haven't been plagiarizing or anything. All my words were my own. But I was just writing in a really "high-and-mighty" kind of way. I forgot who I was writing to. You guys are smart... I'm not saying you're not. But you're my friends. You're people who know me.

RELIGION 'N' POLITICS
by HectorIt's 1:30 in the morning. I just got through watching a couple movies (August Rush and Talk to Me... both awesome). There's no one on AIM to entertain me, but I'm not sleepy. So this seems about as good a time as any to finish the little discussion I started with you guys earlier...

RELIGION 'N' POLITICS
by HectorJews, Christians, and Muslims; the descendants of Abraham quarrel with each other more than your typical siblings. (Jews, being the oldest, have a "golden child" mentality; Christians, the middle child, are the attention-seekers; and Muslims, the baby of the family, want the world.) Each one thinks itself to be the one true way to salvation and, so, disregards the attempts of the others to assert their legitimacy. "For every church is orthodox to itself; to others, erroneous or heretical." (You can't be right 'cause WE'RE right!)

THE DIRTY SOUTH
by HectorLong live the South! What the hell does that mean? How can someone wish to conserve the memory of the Old South, the Confederate South, the Rebel South? Southerners, and Northerners, too, who think that it's okay to consider themselves proud descendants or supporters of the Confederacy on any inch of this country should be considered the natural enemies of every true American.

THAT'S SOME COMPASS
by HectorIts second day out and already The Golden Compass is causing a great deal of controversy. This group of movie protesters is the same clan that condemned The Passion of the Christ, The Da Vinci Code, Monty Python's Life of Brian, and Dogma; the dangerously religious. This band of instigators loves promoting their own views, ideas, and agenda but are so adamantly opposed to something (or someone) who says or does something they might disagree with in the least.

RUSSIA AND VENEZUELA: THE BALANCE OF POWER
by HectorIf you haven't heard by now, the voting results from Venezuela and Russia will allow Americans to breathe a little easier tonight than we did last night.

THE NEW COLOR LINE
Not only does the idea of a color line apply to the division between reasons, specifically between blacks and whites or whites and the so-called "colored" races, it is also present within a race itself.
